Luftwaffe SSK90 Flying Helmet
The rare metal SSK90 Luftwaffe protective flying helmet. Manufactured by Siemens, the helmet is made from 12 metal sections rivetted to a central oval. Originally it would have been covered in leather, with a leather liner. Dated August 1941 and stamped CAW. The SSK90 helmets were discontinued for service because of their weight which made them unpopular with Luftwaffe flight personnel. read more
